ViaTalk Basic Service - Requirements

1. High Speed Internet Connection
Your internet bandwidth should be at least:

200 Kb/s for download speed
200 Kb/s for upload speed

Please go to www.speedtest.net and click on your recommended server to check your bandwidth speed.

 

2. Wired Internet Connection
VoIP is recommended for use with a wired internet connection.
We do not recommend using VoIP with any of the following:

Wireless Internet
Microwave Internet
WiMAX Internet
Satellite Internet

 

3. Modem
For VoIP to function, it needs to connect to the internet. In order for you to connect, you need a modem from your Internet Service Provider

 

4. Router
In order to connect the modem to your computer and your ViaTalk adapter at the same time, you will need a router. Some ISP’s offer a device that is a combination modem and router; these devices will have multiple Ethernet ports that allow you to connect more than one device to the modem.

 

5. Touch tone Phone
Touch tone phones are a requirement for VoIP to work. Pulse phones are not compatible with phone service through the internet.
